Manuk Podcast Interview
Manuk a young talent from Buenos Aires currently living in London answers a couple questions regarding his latest Archipel 013 Podcast. Have a read to understand how the selected pictures have meaning for him and to the podcast.
Archipel: What was important for you to highlight in this work?
Manuk: I really enjoyed recording it. I tried to prepare some records in advance as I knew there was some kind of implicit orientation regarding where it should have landed conceptually, but I couldn’t help it and changed it all 5 minutes after starting the session, so it ended being a lot more “on the fly” than it was supposed to be.
A: What is the focus of the recording?
M: I tried to create a “not necessarily club focused” music journey for an hour, one you could easily listen at home, in a bus, train…
A: Is it different in any way from your previous works?
M: I normally try to make more lineal sessions and this one maybe jumps a bit from one place to the other, so yes, it’s different.
A: Why did you choose this picture? What did you feel with it?
M: I liked the concrete textured feel it has and the “time – space” sensation I felt when I saw it.
A: How do you feel the mix corresponds to it? What is your view on this musical dressup?
M: I think they pair well together, maybe both of them have a “focus – out of focus” perspective game, but seem to be solid at the same time…
