Archipel is pleased to welcome Ben Goodwin to its digital series with the highly rhythmic “Quantumplative”.
It is a release filled to the brim with razor’s edge quantizations such as “8 0%8” which, as the title is indicative of, is loaded with molten manipulations of 808 percussion spherically circulating around haunting vocal snippets. “Bend the Walls with Your Mind” is a rubbery ocean laden with smoothed slivers of glassy rhythm embedded in a solid field of neuronal low end jittering while “Motherboard” continues on the heavy, low slung side, hypnotizing all who will more than likely find themselves captured within its circuit frying grasp.
“Gratitude” is a jumpy precise bed of sharp percussive elements and delicate melodic vocal sweeps which take over the whole cinematic scene like slow lightning weaving through the fuzzy liquid blackness of night. “Mystery in the Mundane” shimmers with tiny metallicized splinters drifting through eerily lit visions with mechanical precision sewing themselves into a dense rhythmic foundation.
“Sumday” takes a more broken up yet still very precise direction with all elements in strict synchronization arcing and flashing in between and within each other.
