The twelfth release is the Archipel debut for Social System, which consists of Jean-Patrice Remillard (more widely known as Pheek and the owner of Archipel) and Jason Corder (also known as Off the Sky and works with labels like Autoplate.) They join forces here to create “Trial of Errors” which is a gentle melting pot of Corder’s deep and dubby sound combined with Remillard’s stuttering and spasming percussive and glitchy workouts.
The release begins with “Los Angeles” which is a deep and yet razor sharp trip through a world of classy melodies, designer sounds and haunting effects.
“Garlic Rooftop” is a bouncy and stuttering number where Remillard’s funky side is definitely present. It is full of far out effects and drugged out melodies.
To finish off the Trial of Errors, “Right of Way” is a heavy hitting and groovy beast with a cheeky bass riff and crystaline melodies. Overall this EP shows that Remillard and Corder know how to set the right moods to lead into to some of the most intricate and dancy trips around.
